about me

I am a 23 year old Scottish painter and printmaker passionate about capturing the essence of the human figure.

My current body of work focusses primarily on traditional painting and printmaking, while incorporating film, photography, and other media for research. In our evolving technological society, I am intrigued by the intricacies of the human condition and aim to create genuine portrayals of our need for socialization, particularly within domestic settings.

To achieve this, I dive into authentic, unscripted moments by moving away from traditional photography that allows for posing. Instead, I have been fortunate to utilize surveillance footage from the security cameras within my own family home. This method enables me to capture genuine moments in time, which I transform into paintings infused with personal expression. Nevertheless, ethical concerns arise when using surveillance footage, so I make sure to obtain permission from those involved.
